Dear 2013 Continued,
June: I gave a
concert. A concert of Heidi. I sang for friends and family. The room was packed
and just filled with love. I graduated from High School. I had never been so
ready to grow up. The over-night party was fun. I strangely didn't get tired. I
spent my summer in the most unproductive way possible. I went to work, helped
around the house, and watched Gilmore Girls. Some people say that is awful but
it was the best summer. My sister would watch some episodes with me and it
connected us. We both have a love for GG. Brandt and Meme got married. High
School sweethearts. It honestly doesn't get cuter than their story. I went to
many farewells. I also got to train the cutest girl at Cadets. Her name is
Brigette and we had so much fun together. I was actually sad leaving her
behind because we had grown so close.
July: Basically all
I can say is Joe's Valley. Life doesn't get any better. It is the one week a
year that I don't think about anything. I live purely in the moment. I read
books, take pictures, play with kids, go for a drive, listen to music, eat
food, laugh with my cousins, take a nap, and just enjoy the beauty all around.
This month I got especially close to my cousins the Kunzler girls. I take that
back, I got extremely close to my whole family. It was a great unifying week.
August: This is the
month that my life made a drastic change. I quit my job. Went to the last round
of farewells. I went on a date (yes, that is important enough to add). I moved
out. I started school. I went river rafting. I met my new best friends. I tried
out for Women's Choir. And I started a new life.
September: My ballet
teacher from Murray Community got married. That story is super cute also.
School. The days flew by but the weekend seemed to be a distant memory.
September was the month of boys. That is basically all we would talk
about in our apartment. I also celebrated Mercedes' birthday with her. I
finally used my adult powers and stayed out till 1:00 in the morning. Also I
sang karaoke. Surprisingly I don't do it very often.
October: Two
concerts in one month. Imagine Dragons, and the Matt Nathanson/Joshua Radin
concert. Both were AMAZING! I finally got a hair cut. Who knew that it
would only take a year and a half! Relief Society Retreat at
the Bishop's cabin. That was fun. Four wheeling in the chill of the
morning. We had our first cleaning check in our apartment,
and guess what, we all passed!
November: Tyler came
home. Two years had somehow flown by. The new adventure began. Introducing
him to normal life, and the cold. Poor boy. Thanksgiving. My favorite. I
love stuffing my face with food and it is socially expectable to eat until it
hurts. I loved spending time with my family. And lets not forget my little
cousins!
December: Who needs
sleep? This has become my new motto. Every night is a party night. And
this finally caught up to me. I got sick. I haven't been sick like this
in long time. It really makes you appreciate being healthy. I sang in my
Home Ward (while sick). Not the best situation but it was an overcoming feeling
because I wasn't as nervous as I usually got. Finals. My first finals week. And
boy was it scary. Christmas was a little different this year. No Missionary Skype or Phone calls. That was a fun moment.
Here comes the new year.
Love, Heidi
