State Fair

My siblings fancied me by taking me to the State Fair. I had never been until this year. It was different from what I expected. There was a lovely variety of people present to share the experience with.

Flaming Gorge

Labor Day Weekend is usually spent with my family at our Condo. But this year was different and special. I was invited to spend the weekend with Marnie and her family. Flaming Gorge to her is Joe's Valley to me. So I was honored to be invited to this special place. We went boating, soaked some sun, and enjoyed having no agenda. The weather was perfect. Sunny with a slight breeze and only a few rainstorms. I will have to admit, my favorite part was not having to wake up to responsibilities.

The holiday weekend has come and gone and now it is time to dive into school and work.

I had a post all typed up. It was me basically complaining about school. Not really school as much as calculus. (You know, the class I was complaining about before it even started.) But then I decided that me complaining wasn't something I wanted on this blog. This blog is great to share my thoughts and feelings but it isn't a place for me to vent all the time. So instead I am going to do a "throwback" to the time I went to Thanksgiving Point with my fam for my Dad's work party. 

First, I want to say that I knew from the start that is party would be fun. Everyone else in my family wasn't sold until we completed all the festivities. 

Second, I love acting like a little kid going through museums.
The day started out in the dinosaur museum. The coolest part was being one of about 20 people in the entire place. Jennie and I partook of all the hands on activities. My favorite part was building a dino with velcro pieces and playing in the sand/water pit. (Like I said. I am a child.)
The next stop was the Museum of Natural Curiosity. If you don't know what this place is, I provided a link you can follow that includes pictures and a brief description. Basically Barbara Barrington Jones this awesome lady (whom I have met) that donated a lot of money, over 2 million dollars, to this museum that is all about hands on experiences. There are different sections of the museum that offer different learning opportunities. I like the Kidopolis even though I didn't exactly fit in, being a grown up and all. Kidopolis takes a city and makes it kid friendly. For example they had a bank with a drive through tube and a vault full of "money." Jennie made fun of me for hanging out there since I am at a real "bank" all day. I also enjoyed watching all the engineers in the Waterworks area because you could see they were in their happy place. That entire room was based off of physics. Basically these museum was so cool that we spent a few good hours there. To finish the day we did a walk through the gardens. I have never been and when I go again, I am definitely renting a segway. The gardens were beautiful, of course. It was a lot of walking but worth it.
By the end of the day, we were all exhausted but we had a new appreciation for Thanksgiving Point. I have to say, I live in a great state that has a lot to offer, yet I have only experienced a small part.
